Phishing Scam Alert
Evansville Commerce Bank has been alerted to a phishing scam involving the bank’s customers in which the caller states that they are calling from the bank (the caller does not mention Evansville Commerce Bank by name, which indicates that the scam is most likely not isolated to Evansville Commerce Bank) to validate the customer’s card information to prevent the card from being disabled.
Phishing is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity.
If you received this call and responded, please notify the bank immediately so your card can be deactivated and a new card issued.
Should you receive such a phone call in the future, do not respond.
Evansville Commerce Bank employees will never contact you and ask you to validate your account or card number(s) over the phone.
If you have any questions regarding this alert, please speak with a customer service representative by visiting the bank or calling 812.492.1800. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
